St Maarten Rentals

Welcome the beautiful holiday paradise island of St. Maarten. This is the smallest island in the world which is shared by two sovereign governments-namely the French and Dutch.

St. Martin, a French dependency, occupies the northern half. St Maarten holiday rentals are popular with many visitors seeking a relaxed and casual break and with few formalities. Philipsburg is its capital and the southern area is occupied by the Dutch inhabitants.

Overseas visitors account for the majority who come here to rent St Maarten holiday accommodation. This is in contrast to the few who actually own holiday villas in St Maarten and offer them for rental accommodation.

This unique island is located near to Anguilla and St Barts in the Caribbean Sea and having dual nationality adds variety for the people. Both Dutch St. Maarten and French St. Martin have maintained a peaceful co-existence for approximately 350 years. These two territories have enjoyed good relations throughout history and have both shared the prosperity and benefits of tourism for many years. Holiday villas in St Maarten are available in both regions.

The island of St. Maarten has an excellent seaport and a busy airport, which makes the island ideal for tourism. The government is currently organising a major road improvement scheme, which includes the construction of some new roads and the re-paving of existing roads together with the installation of traffic light signalling and roundabouts.

Dutch St. Maarten has been both politically and economically stable. The territory is not only a safe and pleasant place to do business, but also a place to establish roots and raise a family. The total population has grown from 13,156 in 1980 to nearly 39,000 in year 2000. It is estimated that the population of St. Maarten consists of 77 different nationalities. The native languages are English and Dutch.
