Book up a wonderful holiday to Australia & New Zealand when down under they are enjoying a beautiful summer. We may be enduring a dismal European winter here, but you’ll have so much fun in pleasant temperatures around 30 degrees! Australia’s summer starts in December and lasts through until the end of February when rainfall is expected.
Your starting point could well be Sydney. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the most recognisable attractions in Australia, and symbols the gateway to one of the most beautiful harbours in the world together with the stunning Sydney Opera House. Another reason to visit Sydney is because it’s a great place to be at Christmas and the New Year, which can then be followed by the famous Sydney Festival. Held in January, the Festival offers a range of entertainments including theatres, dancing, music, films and outdoor spectaculars.
Sydney has spectacular beaches, as do Melbourne and the wonderful Gold Coast areas of Queensland and Brisbane. Equally as good is the mighty Cable Beach in Western Australia.
To enjoy exploring holidays, book a tour through the interior to visit Alice Springs and Ayers Rock, or visit Townsville and Cairns for a glimpse of the spectacular Great Barrier Reef.
No visit to New Zealand would be complete without a trip into Christchurch, with its ‘old English’ charm, beautiful Cathedral Square and wonderfully colourful gardens. There are also historic gothic style buildings worth a visit, but plenty of shopping malls for a diversion.
South Island consists of many exciting tourist hot-spots and all are easily accessible. Beyond Christchurch lies Mt Cook, Franz Joseph glacier, Milford Sound, Queenstown and Dunedin, all are just waiting to be discovered!
New Zealand North Island has Wellington as its capital, which lies at the head of the rough water of the Cook Straits, as it connects with some beautiful bays of the Marlborough Sounds. Popular tourist locations include Auckland, the City of Sails. A vibrant way of life exists in Auckland, with its cosmopolitan feel and modern architecture. Nelson, Rotorua, the Coromandel Peninisula, Waitangi and the Bay of Islands are all on the tourist trail and well worth a visit.
Exciting activities include blo-karting along New Zealand's Ninety Mile Beach, Bungy Jumping near Queenstown, Abseiling, Caving and Blackwater Rafting at Waitomo, and a Walk on the Glaciers at Franz Joseph and Fox glaciers on South Islands West Coast.
