There are many interesting places for tourists in Italy, none more so than the mountainous region of Abruzzo. The capital of Abruzzo is L’Aquila, which is a beautiful city - situated in a picturesque mountain setting. It’s an ideal location to use as a base to explore the hill towns, river valleys and high-mountains of the region. In terms of travel, there are many flights from the UK, including Ryanair who fly to Pescara, taking 2½ hours. But if you fly into Rome Ciampino the journey to Torino di Sangro, on route to the holiday villas in Abruzzo - is more spectacular!
