Description of Holiday Chalet
CHALET TERESA
Chalet Teresa is a brand new chalet - opened Dec 2005 - with 5 en suite bedrooms. It can sleep a maximum of 14 people. In summer clients can enjoy the heated swmming pool in the chalet's garden.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwsher, cooker and oven and a breakfast bar. The dining table seats 12 and the large living area has a log fire, satellite TV, DVD and Video player and a Hi-Fi system.
All five bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and twin beds with two having an additional double to accommodate up to 14 guests. There is an integral garage and additional surface parking.
Price includes all bed linen, towels, logs for the fire, local taxes and fresh baguettes delivered every morning in time for breakfast.
The chalet is close to the centre of this conservation village and very near shops, superb restaurants and lively pubs.
The main lift is about 3 minutes away by car or the free ski bus.
Skiing Facilities
Samoens is fully linked to the Grand Massif. One new lift speeds you in 8 minutes form the village to the slopes. The snow record is exceptionally good.A free ski bus runs thro' the day.
The Grand Massif ski area boasts a 265 kms of linked and prepared runs, connecting Flaine with the resorts of Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt Fer-à-Cheval.
The Cascades piste, a jewel in the crown. Imagine a run 14 kms long, an altitude drop of 1800m down into the village of sixt Fer à Cheval, wonderful scenery, and never encounter one single ski lift! Start at the top of Les Grandes Platières. From Sixt, a free shuttle bus takes you to the main cable car in Samoëns.
3 “Jamparks” throughout the Grand Massif area are at disposal of freestylers of all skills and ambitions.
The Grandes Platières cable car takes you from 1600 to 2500 m in only 12 minutes. stepping out of the cabin, a magnificent view over the Mont Blanc will take you aback. Bar & restaurant with sun terrace at the top.
Special Interest
Samoens comes into its own in the summer. This traditional French village in the Grand Massif is a conservation area, so there are no ugly modern high-rises to spoil the views of the mediaeval church and tree-lined square.
Samoens is particularly good at looking after young children. Children under 6 can visit the House of the Little Mountain Folk which is a convivial place for parents and kids to play together. Entry is free.
There is also a new nursery (telephone nmber 0033 450 34 13 96). The staff speak English. Pre-booking is recommended.
Samoens offers everything from walking to mountain climbing. Miles of trails. Climb Mont Blanc, too! Mountain-biking, canyoning, caving, canoeing and white water rafting are also offered. In addition, there is tennis, horse-riding, outdoor swimming pools, archery and jetskiing.
The village has a host of good restaurants and bars where the local wine and food may be enjoyed as you relax at the end of a busy day in the sun.
Further Details
In winter there is an open air ice rink and plenty of aciticty in teh square. In summer there is a large leisure park with a large outdoors pool if you want a change from the private one in youyr own garden.
