The exotic state of Goa lies on the western coast of India and was until recently a Portuguese possession. The state still maintains its Portuguese qualities, in particular in its architecture, but it is very definitely Indian in character. The Hindu and Catholic faiths are the predominant religions giving Goa a fascinating cultural identity.
Lush, emerald green paddy fields with villages interspersed about them predominate with many white, Portuguese style churches being in evidence. Mansions and villas, all obviously Portuguese in origin, are a common site alongside the Goan houses which are often situated amongst the woods and coconut plantations as indeed is the Sandray Luxury Resort.
