Description of Holiday Apartment

We have 3 Air-conditioned Apartments,enjoying a rural location our family home is ideally situated for sampling the Italian way of life, at a relaxed pace.We are within walking distance of the village of San Marco, and beaches. The modern, comfortably appointed apartments, benefit from a traditional Italian construction, with cool high ceilings, and a balcony to sit and savour views over the vineyards, and enjoy local produce. The apartment is found on the first floor of a typical Italian villa, surround by a landscape garden featuring a variety of fruit and olive trees, gazebo and shaded car parking area for guests. The roof of the villa has been made into a solarium, where sun beds, a cold shower, barbeque and a shaded dining area can be found. The apartments consist of 1 double bedroom, 1room with bunk-beds, kitchen/living room with divan T.V. and video, shower room and balcony.San Marco has a heritage worth exploring, the pretty harbour a safe haven for local fishermen and seafaring holiday makers is built on a more ancient Greek harbour still visible today, surrounded by coves and inlets once the domain of pirates. San Marco is situated in the gulf of Salerno on the Cilento coast just down from the gulf of Naples and the Amalfi coast in the Cilento National Park. The village of San Marco di Castellabate is found on the beautiful unspoilt Cilento coastline, which lies in the National parkland reserve, and stretches along the coast and inland to the hills of Vallo di Diano. Offering a wonderful combination of wide sandy bays , rocky coves and green hillsides. The village of San Marco has a picturesque fishing port where you will find moored a selection of fishing boats, leisure boats and yachts. In the village you can find a number of restaurants, bars and shops.

Beaches / Coast

There are a number of beaches in the area .15minutes walk to a long sandy beach that runs between San Marco and Santa Maria with sallow waters that go deeper gradually, ideal for small children. 10 minutes walk to the port where there are rocky alcoves and beaches along the coast ideal for snorkling and quiet peaceful undisturbed sunbathing .The sea is 10 minutes walk away or 2 minutes by car. Private parking by sea is provided. You can enjoy beautiful sandy beaches that lay between San Marco and Santa Maria or explore the more quieter rocky beaches and coves towards Lecosia. San Marco itself is a small fishing village and boasts a small port mooring many fishing vessels, and in the summer months yachts and leisure boats.

Horse riding. How about going treking into the National Park area or along the beach western style?. This is the way to see the country side. Also riding lessons can be arranged. Deep sea diving where you can see the sunken Greek town. Go on a fishing excursion with local fishermen It is an ideal base for those who wish to explore the historic and cultural interests of this part of Italy as well as being on the coast where the blue flag has been awarded for clean seas. You may visit such places as: The Greek Temples of Paestum and the Buffalo mozzarella farms, Pompei, Herculaneum, Vesuvis, Amalfi coast, Capri and Ishia, or spend the day in the water park with the children and beauty centre or up into the National park area and explore inland the WWF. Oasis and the caves of Castelciveccia. Private excursions can be made with an English driver.

The neighbouring village of Santa Maria, slightly larger than San Marco, boasts a greater selection of shops, restaurants , gelateries and Bars. Castellabate the medieval village situated on the hill now under patronage of the UNESCO offers stunning views of the coastline with silhouette of the Amalfi coast and Capri island.It is an ideal base for those who wish to explore the historic and cultural interests of this part of Italy as well as being on the coast where the blue flag has been awarded for clean seas. San Marco is situated in the gulf of Salerno on the Cilento coast just down from the gulf of Naples and the Amalfi coast in the Cilento National Park. Casa Palma is situated in a rural area, five minutes walk from a delightful panoramic restaurant and bar, ten minutes walk from the village and the beach.

Directions to Holiday Apartment

The nearest airport is Naples about 130km, pick up can be arranged . Nearest train station is Agropoli 12km. pick up can be arranged . To Naples airport fly British Airways ,Easy Jet, Airitalia, airone ect. The trains run about every hour from Naples to Agropoli. There is also a good bus service in the village to go locally or as far as Salerno.
