Description of Holiday Apartment

With a spectacular beach starting at Vila Real de Santo Antonio, the beach then stretches along past Praia Lota almost all the way to Tavira. The beach is backed by woods of trees characteristics of the mediterranean region, the Umbrella Pine. The holiday apartment Praia Lota is situated in a cul de sac, offering excellent peace and tranquility in a privileged area, only 200mtr from the sea. This beachapartment, with view to the sea out of nearly every window and from the terrace, is situated between the popular beachresorts of Manta Rota and Monte Gordo in the eastern part of the algarve.
It is the ideal place for people who love the life near a beach.

Golf Facilities

Within a radius of 40km there are all in all 14 golfcourses to choose from, even more if going across the spanish border to Ilha Christina near the spanish border town of Ayamonte.
Interest in the eastern Algarve has particulary grown since the opening of two premium golf courses at Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima, only 6km west from the apartment. Further to the west, about 10km from the apartment you find the Benamour Golf Course, situated opposite the new developped residential are of Conceisao, near the fishingvillage of Cabanas.
A small inland 9 hole golf course, Colina Verde, is situated in Maragota, near Moncarapacho, about 7km from Tavira between the coast and the algarvian mountain range. Another splendid Golf Course is situated near Castro Marim, about 10km to the east of the apartment, on the bank of the Guadianariver.

Beaches / Coast

Superb sandy beaches are within easy reach and all have the EEC Blue Flag for cleanliness and pollution free water.
Praia Lota Beach - this is the beach in front of the apartment which stretches to the beach of Altura, Praia Verde and Monte Gordo to the left and to the beach of Manta Rota, Cabanas and Tavira to the right.
This part of the eastern coast belongs to the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa, a paradiese for bird watching, consisting of dunes and a lagoon complex.
All beaches along the eastern coast offer bars of fine sand and warm waters, peace and quiet in the less visited zones and more exciting water activities like canoeing, windsurf, sailing, diving, beach volleyball, tennis, pedaloes in the zones around towns like Monte Gordo, Altura, Manta Rota, Tavira.
Even in August you will always find miles of peaceful, beautiful dune fringess beaches.

Further Details

A supermarket and banking machine is in 150mtr distance. Restaurants are situated nearby at the Hotel oasis, at the beach and in Manta Rota and especially in Monte Gordo offer something for everyones taste. Taivra is 15km, Monte Gordo 10km, Faro 50km and the spanish border 12 km away from the apartment.

The nearest airport is Faro, 50km away, easily reached by car on the motorway. Other options of airports are Seville, about 2hr drive and Lisbon with 3hr drive.
