Description of Holiday Apartment

This 2 storey 2 bedroom apartment is comfortably furnished throughout and comprises, on the main floor, an entrance hall with a built in cupbaord, a fully fitted kitchen with an American breakfast bar, a twin bedroom, a bathroom, a lounge and dining area with a small balcony and view towards the river and a gardensquare.
A staircase leading from the lunge to the upper floor comprising a little kitchen with a fridge, another bedroom with a kingsize bed, an en-siute bathroom with a WC a Bidet and a washingbasin. All of the rooms are fitted with ventilators to cool down the air in the hotter weeks of the year. Each room has a heater installed to keep the place warm in the wintermonths, the doubleglazed windows insuring, that the desired temperature stays in the apartment.

Golf Facilities

About 3km east of Tavira you find the Benamor Golf course, lying opposite the new developped residential area of Conceicao near Cabanas. Another 9 hole golf course lies in Maragota, near Moncarapacho and about 6 km from Tavira.Further, sbout 1o km to the east you find two premium Golf courses, Quinta da Cima and Quinta da Ria. Driving to the west you find the well established golf courses of Vilamoura and Quinta do Largo. Within a radius of 40km there are all in all 14 golf courses to choose from.

Beaches / Coast

Superb sandy beaches are within easy reach, all have EEC Blue Flag for cleanliness and pollution free water. The part of the coast lying around Tavira belongs to Parque Natural da Ria Formosa. it is consisting of dunes and a lagoon complex, which is know as Ilha da Tavira. it is a paradise for bird watching. Tavira Island beach can be reached by a short ferry ride, which leaves behing the old market in the centre of town, only 5 minutes walk from the apartment. Even in August this magnificient beach is relatively uncrowded. There are plenty of other beaches around Tavira which offer either full facilities or are simply peaceful and fringed by dunes.

Special Interest

With easy access to the A22 Motorway and the EN125 all amenities can be easily reached. As well as a choice of Blue Flag beaches in the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa and top quality golf courses, places of interest include local Algarve villages and small towns, such as Olhaom Estoi, Cachope, Vila Real and further afield Lisbon or in Spain the town of Seville (2hr drive). There are ferries to and from islands across the Ria Formosa, boat trips on the river Guardiano. On a wet day the Forum Algarve Center in Faro offers 9 modern cinemas, shopping in tastefully decorated shops or dining out in one of the numerous restaurants.

Elegant 18th century houses border the Rio Gilao. Castle ruins overlook at least 30 churches. Tavira is renowned for its historical past. Today is relies increasingly on tourism. Explore cobbled streets, see ornate tiele fronted houses, the castle ruin of just relax and unwind in one of the garden squares. The nearest airport is Faro, about 30km away. Seville is also frequrently used as an arrival destination and is 2hrs drive away.
Arriving in Lisbon is also another option, s it is onyl a 3 hour drive through picturesque scenery on an excellent motorway.
