Description of Holiday Apartment

Zermatt is often voted the best ski resort in the world with its car free alpine charm and great mountain scenery. The most inspiring mountain in the world - The Matterhorn can be seen from the lounge window. There are over 120 restaurants in the village and all within walking/skiing distance from the apartment.

Zermatt is a great resort for both skiers and non skiers, with great shopping and nightlife. The village is at 1600 metres and the ski runs are some of the highest in Europe. Good snow conditions are guaranteed. The glacier allows skiing all year round.

The super quality accommodation comprises 2 double bedrooms, 2 bath/shower rooms, large lounge with double sofa bed and balconies overlooking the Matterhorn and the river flowing through Zermatt.

The dining area plus fully equipped kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, halogen hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer and extractor. Oak and tiled floors, open wood burning stove, cable TV, ski room, washing room, under floor heating and quality furniture.
All year round, there are several points at which to access the mountains, either by train, cable-car or gondola. The local Tourist Information office will provide you with the very best maps, guides and train timetables for use during your holiday, most completely Free of charge. You’ll find at least 3 main routes from which to enjoy an ‘adventure’ directly into the mountains.

Route 1 – Zermatt-Sunnegga Paradise-Rothorn Paradise
Route 2 – Zermatt-Rifflealp-Riffgleberg-Gornegrat
Route 3 – Zermatt-Furi-Schwarzee Paradise-Matterhorn Glacier Paradise

Winter visitors need to purchase a ski pass and or train ticket for any destination and can get on and off at any station along the route. Most high mountain areas provide good rest areas & catering facilities. Don’t forget your camera!

Golf Facilities

There is a 9 - hole Par 36 Golf Course that is located between Randa and nearby Tasch, and which sports a 'Matterhorn' green near the 8th hole.
The course is situated at approx 1400metres above sea level, but ideally lies on a sunny, level plateau. There are some nearby wooded areas but magnificent mountain scenery abounds the course.

Skiing Facilities

In winter, ‘picture postcard’ Zermatt is popular with skiers, snow boarders and cross- country walkers who arrive from all over Europe. There is all year round skiing and snowboarding, you'll be amazed at the snow levels up high during the summer.

There are over 120 restaurants in the village and all within walking/skiing distance from the apartment. Nearly the size of a small town, Zermatt has lots to offer at all times of the year. Being car-free, visitors can enjoy everything that Zermatt has to offer, including the snowy mountains, alpine sports and dining out. The village has numerous shops and pretty boutiques, selling more fashion wear and the latest designs in winter sports clothing and ski-wear than you could imagine.
There's a great choice of restuarants and bars, both independently run and in most of the Hotels, where guests will be assured of a warm and friendly welcome at anytime of the year.

Approx 3 hours by train from Geneva or 2.5 by hire car and approx 3 hours train from Zurich, both Cities have stations within or below the Airport, so making it easy for the onward connection if flying into either airport.
